Mark the trench, check what is under it
Cut lines get marked with you, and we check service plans before cutting. What is under a road is rarely where the plan says it is, so the depth is set deliberately.

Cut to the depth the dig needs
Deep enough that the excavator breaks out cleanly inside the line, without cutting so deep we hit what we are trying to expose.

Slurry controlled
Wet cutting throws slurry, so it gets contained and cleaned up rather than left to run into the gutter and the stormwater.

Straight edges for reinstatement
A sawn edge is what makes the patch look right when it goes back. Ragged breakout is what makes a road repair obvious for years.

Road sawing is priced by the metre and the depth, and the depth is the big lever — a deep cut through reinforced concrete is slower and harder on blades than a shallow cut through asphalt. Traffic control, permits and after-hours work are the other big variables, and they are usually arranged by the head contractor rather than us. Tell us the trench depth, the surface and the hours you can work and the quote will be accurate first time.

Road sawing, answered
How deep can a road saw cut?
Far deeper than a hand saw — a road saw will take a trench cut through a pavement in one pass. Exact depth depends on the saw and the blade, so tell us the trench depth when you call and we will confirm what it needs.
Do you cut asphalt as well as concrete?
Both, including reinforced slab. They cut differently and use different blades, so it helps to know what is under the surface before we arrive.
Can you work at night or around traffic?
Yes. Road work often has to happen outside business hours, and we will work in with your traffic control and the permit conditions. Give us as much notice as you can for night work.
Do you remove the spoil?
We cut. Breaking out and carting away is usually the excavator crew's scope, but tell us what you need and we will tell you straight whether it is ours or theirs.
